We print every photograph in-house in Waiouru on Ilford fine art paper, and a person checks every file before it's printed. Framed orders are fitted into their frames here too. We deliver throughout New Zealand.

Four ways to give a photograph
A framed print
For the photo that deserves a wall.
Choose the size, the frame and the mat, upload the photo, and see it framed before you order. Frames come in 27 ranges with 117 finishes. Every framed print includes standard glass and comes mounted, with a hanging kit to fit yourself.

An unframed print, presented
For someone who'd rather choose their own frame.
Add Premium Presentation to an unframed A4, A3 or A2 print. It comes in an archival sleeve, on an archival backing card, with a pair of cotton gloves for handling the print: ready to wrap, and nice to open.

A frame on its own
For the print that's been sitting in a drawer.
If they already have the print, order the frame on its own in the size it needs, from the same 27 ranges.

A set for a wall
For a new home, or a wall that's still blank.
Mix sizes and frames for a gallery wall: three photographs from one trip, or a photo of every grandchild. Sizes run from 8×10" to A0, and you can order up to 20 of each print.

Not sure which photo they'd choose? Give a voucher
A STIL LAB gift voucher lets them choose their own photo, size, paper and frame. Vouchers come in $20, $40, $60, $100 and $200, and arrive by email as soon as you've paid, so a voucher is the gift that still works after the Christmas cut-off.

Getting the photo right
- Use the original file. Ask whoever took it for the full-size file, not a screenshot or a copy sent through a messaging app, which usually shrinks it.
- Check the size in the designer. Once your photo shows in the preview, the designer tells you how well the file suits the size you've chosen, and suggests a smaller size if it's too low.
- We accept JPEG, PNG, TIFF and HEIC files up to 500 MB.
- We check every file before we print it, and we'll contact you if something needs attention.
Questions
When do I need to order by for Christmas?
Monday 7 December, for framed and unframed prints alike. Rural addresses can take a few days longer, so order earlier if you can. After that, a gift voucher still arrives in time: it comes by email.
Do you gift-wrap?
We don't gift-wrap. If you're giving an unframed print, add Premium Presentation: it arrives in an archival sleeve on an archival backing card, ready for you to wrap.
What if I order during the break?
That's fine. We close from Monday 21 December to Monday 11 January, and your order is made when we're back.
Which paper should I choose?
Choose "Recommended for You" and our print specialists will pick the best of our nine Ilford papers for the photograph. The paper doesn't change the price.
